Pro Bono Business Supporting Business

It’s a really tough time for a lot of businesses, so the team here at Gooii have been thinking about ways we can help during this difficult period. We’ve been coming up with ideas and we’re hoping to offer Pro Bono advice to small, independent and local businesses in Nottinghamshire and the surrounding areas.

We’re not asking for any money or anything in return, just trying to help in any small way we can. Whether it’s an idea that you can take away and use, simple ways to improve your website without spending any money or starting a website from scratch – we’re hoping we can help. Maybe you’re a business looking to diversify into a safe, online ordering and contactless delivery model. Anything at all, let us know.

This is still in the early days but our plan is to dedicate at least a day a week helping others. If you think this might benefit you or your small business, please get in touch by emailing [email protected] and we’ll do what we can to help.

WordPress for Small Businesses

We have recently completed a variety of websites for a number of small businesses and charities. Gooii highly recommend WordPress as the perfect solution for small business website. WordPress is the leading CMS for creating user-friendly, and SEO websites that are fully optimised for desktop, tablets and smartphones.  WordPress is not only a cost effective solution but has an intuitive interface and is very simple to use.  Your WordPress website is browser based and can be managed from any computer. No coding knowledge is required to update the website – it’s as simple as filling in a form. You have complete control of the site, we can even automate post updates to update some of your social media accounts, saving you time. Your site can grow as your business grows, new sections and features can be added quickly.

Take a look at some sites we have developed in WordPress for small businesses in our porfolio.

Volunteer Global Health

We were approached by a brand new charity to design their logo and website. We chose a WordPress solution with Divi template for the most cost effective and easy to update solution for the client.

WordPress is a fantastic solution for business owners who wish to be self-sufficient. Full training is provided to enable you to update your website with confidence. The WordPress platform has lots of fantastic standard plugins that can be used to give users advanced features at a low cost – we also install Yoast for search engine optimisation.

We offer reduced rates for all registered charities, please get in touch to discuss your project.

Solution Rail

Based on a client recommendation, Solution Rail contacted us to create them a new website. We chose a WordPress solution combined with a customised Divi template for a cost effective solution. The client wanted a simple, clean design to effectively showcase their projects and services. Solution Rail is a very busy small business and were worried about finding the time to update the site themselves. We were happy to help and agreed an annual contract for us to update the site for them. If your organisation requires us to update your site on a regular basis we are happy to provide a bespoke quotation based on your individual requirements.

Gooii Celebrate at Alchemilla

Gooii recently treated our staff to a fabulous dining experience at Alchemilla in Nottingham to celebrate 10 years of service from three of our dedicated coders. A huge thank you to Benji, Corey and Kuba for your hard work and loyalty over the past 10 years… looking forward to another decade of working with you all.

Alchemilla did not disappoint – we had a unique dining experience at their kitchen table. The food and service were exceptional and after five and half hours we were seriously stuffed. Many thanks!

Nottingham one of the best places for a night out in the UK

Nottingham has been named as one of the best places to have a night out in the UK, after being awarded the Purple Flag Status by the Association of Town Centre Management. It now ranks alongside other areas such as Covent Garden and Leicester Square in London. The 24 hour city has been judged on it’s range of theatres, bars, clubs and restaurants as well as personal safety, cleanliness, appeal and it’s cultural appeal.

Jamie Oliver – Nottingham Update

Jamie’s Italian has been given the go ahead by Nottingham Council planning department. The £1.5 million project will create 85 new jobs in the city. Everyone at Gooii is very excited at the prospect of a fabulous new lunch destination and are keeping our fingers crossed that someone will invite us to the launch.

Jamie Oliver and Antonio Carluccio Looking at Nottingham

Jamie Oliver’s restaurant chain Jamie’s Italian have submitted a planning application with Nottingham City Council to open a £1m restaurant on Low Pavement. The site is a listed building which currently houses Jass Interiors and Jass Cafe. If successful, it could be open in early 2011. Carluccio’s have also obtained planning consent for the Old Slug and Lettuce bar on Low Pavement. A great location, just 5 minutes from the Gooii office – maybe someone will invite us to the launch parties?
